On July 29th, the Global Digital Economy Conference 2022 – Advanced Computing and Intelligent Core Development Forum, themed “Drawing a New Picture of Computing and Building a Wisdom Core Ecosystem Together”, was successfully held at the China National Convention Center, and the “China Mobile DPU Technology White Paper”, which was written by Resnics , was officially released at the conference, aiming at promoting the high-speed and steady development of the DPU industry chain. The traditional model of CPU-based data transfer for cloud-based data center infrastructure platforms has bottlenecks, and the growth rate of network bandwidth, stored data, and the increasing demand for security services far exceeds the CPU’s arithmetic growth rate.
In this context, DPU (Data Processing Unit) comes into being, which is a dedicated processor that provides virtualized data center infrastructure services such as network, storage, security, and management around data processing. As the data entry/exit point of the host, the DPU utilizes dedicated hardware to complete network and storage I/O while having the capability of a standard NIC, freeing up host CPU computing resources while significantly improving I/O performance.
