Overview

To meet the demanding needs of AI data centers for high-speed data processing, Resnics Technology’s Stargate-R2100 smart card is optimized for high-performance storage systems and AI workloads, and is particularly suited for scenarios such as GPU clusters, AI supercomputing nodes, and distributed storage.

With the support of MetaStone, Stargate-R2100 smart card is successfully deployed in MetaStone MOD (Meta Ocean Data) parallel file system platform. In the 100G RoCE network scenario, the Stargate-R2100 smart card delivers outstanding performance and demonstrates its excellent bandwidth and low latency characteristics.

Figure 1 illustrates the core workflow of the MetaStone MOD architecture. In the test scenario based on this architecture, different clients are equipped with Stargate-R2100 smart NICs and NVIDIA ConnectX-5 NICs respectively, and the performance of the two is compared and analyzed in the same test environment to evaluate the performance differences in real-world application scenarios.

Based on the test results, we conclude that the Stargate-R2100 Smart Card is able to provide comparable performance to the ConnectX-5 NIC, and is able to deliver better bandwidth and latency than the ConnectX-5 NIC in certain scenarios.
